Been away

Sorry again for the lack of posting.  I always mean to post, but there's just so much going on.  For one, my desktop computer's harddrive died during a thunderstorm (and my surge-strip didn't protect it), so I finally have it back and don't have to work from my old, weird laptop (yay!).  However, I lost many of my photos and music, and I feel like I lost a bit of my history with it.  It's really...annoying and depressing.

We've also been working on the house.  We're doing two open-house/house warming parties in August, so we want it in as close to tip-top-shape as we can get.  And, well...there's lots to be done.

I've also been baking, but mostly for orders from friends, not for pleasure.

So here's a tidbit of what's going on in Casa Tree-and-Jake:

Newly painted and full bookcase in the den:

Old floors that were hiding under the carpet in the master bedroom:

Newly refinished floors and painted walls:

Baby shower cake with a tropical theme:

Cherry almond breakfast rolls with vanilla bean cream cheese icing:

I've also been trying to find time to hang out with friends and family before school starts in a month.  So I'm sorry I'm being a bad blogger and staying away, but life is a little crazy for me lately.  Work has also been crazy, so when I come home to escape, I've been diving my nose into a book and leaving it there (when I should really be working on taping off and painting the living and dining rooms before we pull up that carpet to redo the floors).  I hope to keep peeking in and out, and not lose you all.

So please bear with me, I'm not lost in the static yet!  :)

Loove the built ins & how you accessorized them. And of course the refinished floors (I have a seething hate for carpet). Your bedroom (colors) looks exactly like my Living Room - Buxton Blue & white trim. :)

@Dancy-The blue was supposed to be more of an aqua color, and was much much brighter on the entire wall than it looked on that tiny sample card. So we did the dining room aqua to make up for it. :)

@Joan- Thank you! :)
